Ubiquiti Airvision – IP Camera System

As if UBNT wasn’t doing enough, they thought they would start doing cameras too. They call it AirVision.

Cameras,

AirCam

AirCam Dome

AirCam Mini

What’s the most interesting part is the price! These are dirt cheap!
AirCam $99
-Wall Mount/Ceiling Mount
-30 FPS
-1MP/HDTV 720p
-4.0mm / F1.5
-Powered through Ethernet

AirCam Dome $109
-Built-in Microphone
-30 FPS
-1MP/HDTV 720p
-4.0mm / F1.5
-Powered through Ethernet

AirCam Mini $89
-Built-in Microphone
-30 FPS
-1MP/HDTV 720p
-3.6mm / F2.5
-Powered through Ethernet

Software

They have created a DVR package that installs on Windows/Linux. It seems to have a lot of the standard metrics. What I really like is the ability to set hot and cold zones on the cameras for recording. This is something that is a deal breaker for me if it doesn’t exist. Beyond the functionality, the price is nice…free.

I think everything is preorder at the moment. Just give google a shot to see if you can locate a vendor.

They’re giving 1 of these away to each person who attends the Ubiquiti conf (on at the same time as the MikroTik UM) .. might be worthwhile jumping between the 2 just to pick one up and have a play 🙂

This stuff never worked for me and many others.

Save your money, at this point I don’t think I will ever buy another camera from “UBIQUITI”.

I don’t know what to do with the Ubiquiti paper weight that I have, I guess you get what you pay for.
