Icons Are Back

I seem to recall ancient versions of MTK had cute little icons in winbox…and it seems as of the late versions of 6 they have made a comeback πŸ™‚ This is V6rc5

The hell with the icons… Why can’t they fix Winbox so I don’t have to change the layout all the time!! It would be nice to have some form of an xml file that tell the router how I want the display laid out no matter which one I log in to. Lots of other things, but that is the current rant.. πŸ™‚

You make me LOL. In what way do you adjust your display?

Columns, what features are displayed in torch.. So on. It’s possible that you don’t understand what I’m talking about, probably my fault in not explaining it very well.

It’s nice to see they are at least maintain Winbox with rumors of it going the way of the dodo. I don’t want to use a browser to configure stuff!

I know what you mean. I do several adjustments myself. Especially depending on the routers functions.

BAH, I don’t want it to go away either!

I like Icons! They keep me company on those long overnight data center sessions. I mean the radius couple looks like a fun couple!

I’m with Tim. Inline comments, the widths of columns, what columns are shown (especially in /ip firewall filter and queues), how the window is sorted (especially in dns static)… I’d love it if these things were persistent per router. In particular, showing and unshowing columns is a painful operation, especially when the choices extend beyond the depth of your window (as in filter and queues). You have to do them one by one at a freaking time, then they are gone away when you log out. πŸ™

Plus, in v6, my RB750 doesn’t show Quickset at all. What…?

This seems like something they could easily integrate into The Dude if nothing else…?
