Mikrotik MUM 2010 Announced In Phoenix
So it has finally been posted. The MUM will be Sept 30th – Oct 1st in Phoenix, Arizona. I plan to attend, and I’m going to try and get an exhibitor’s booth! I really just want to meet and greet, but I also plan to have tshirts to hand out. Hopefully I’ll have some other goods to talk about while I’m there π
How many of you guys are going? I know you are all dieing to meet me in person hehehe π
I plan to attend unless Arizona starts requiring us to have a passport to visit from other states π lol
You think they will release 5.0 at the mum?
I’m not sure…5 is progressing pretty quickly, so it may drop before…who’s to say?
I, as well plan on attending, and I’ll be happy to bring identification if Arizona requires me to as it is no big deal since I already have to show it when I go through the airport, cash a check, use a credit card at the store, so on and so on. π π
As far as ROS 5.0, Is there anything there that is greatly beneficial enough to upgrade from 4.10? Inquiring minds want to know… π

Please include 2XL for us full figured guys… π π
I believe version 5 includes the new SSL based VPN, which I’m happy to see…I’m waiting for it to mature a bit before I mess with it too much. I believe it also has better multicore support for your procs.
2XL…That can’t be right…I wear a medium and all of you guys are just like me, right? π
5.0 Also has the nifty new webfig! Which is nice to configure routers from your mobile device π
Thanks JJ…forgot about that one π
I also thought of the completely redesigned user manager that’s in the 5.0.
I don’t think 4.x has matured enough for full blown production. Getting close.
.9 – .10 is usually where I start deploying it. .10 has been pretty stable and I’m liking it thus far. I still have the majority of my gear on 3.30, though π
We still use 3.30. Tried 4.x and had a pain with it. I want to go to the MUM will have to see if Steve gets back by then, I will keep my fingers crossed
4.6 was fine for us except in some larger deployments, I’m rolling sites over to 4.10 next week now that I’m happy it’s stable.
Looking forward to seeing some motion on a number of IPv6 related requests I’ve submitted for v5 π
Also webfig is getting better and better, very handy to have for mobile devices / iPad etc.
Now that my incredible is in, I’m definitely looking forward to webfig…:) I pray they don’t consider killing winbox, though…mac telnet FTW!
