    As usual, learned something new from your VBlog. Keep it rolling!

    Greg- I sent you an inquiry about some consulting on your personal blog, didn’t hear back – curious if you are up for some training/consulting. Also, thanks again for your IPSec tutorial – I used it today to link up three branch offices. We had it running on crappy “business grade netgear” routers ($300/ea), but they were choking. They worked up to a point then collapsed – failure mode was not graceful. The switchover to Mikrotik yielded 175% more throughput on $100 2011 based Mikrotiks. Your tutorials were essential.

    Justin/Greg – More info on redundancy would be helpful for small WISPs. What about spanning tree? What is it good for? Also PPPoE? More on Cacti? You want topics to talk about, these are my votes.

    What do you guys think of ARC wireless (antennas.com)? They have some beam forming stuff they were bragging about at Wispapalooza, as well as some disruptively priced CPEs. Thoughts?

    @Edward
    I’m glad you liked it!

    I’ll dig through my email and see if I can find yours.

    I’m glad the tutorial was useful. The price/performance of the MTK equipment never ceases to amaze me.

    Spanning tree is good for smallish layer 2 environments. It’s not really designed for spread out wireless networks. When you want redundancy you really want dynamic routing like an OSPF. I see where you are going with it, though. I’ll add them to the list.

    We are actually supposed to be getting some review samples on the ARC gear, so you should hear something soon on that. 🙂

    From youtube:

    Hint: Mikrotik RouterOS

    Have you seen this??

    Mikrotik – Useful tools and utilities – All stable files – Torrent with all stable instruction sets (…mikrotik.com/download/routeros-ALL-5.22.torrent)

    Thanks Bjorn!

    I like the idea of redundancy “tricks” and tips.
