The policy map in IOS-XR is a dream, it lets you specify speed in bps, kbps, mbps, or gbps&#8230;stupid simple.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"gs-code\"><code class=\"language-plaintext\">policy-map 2gig\r\n class class-default\r\n  police rate 2 gbps\r\n   conform-action transmit\r\n   exceed-action drop\r\n  !\r\n !\r\n end-policy-map<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>So class &#8220;class-default&#8221; is a built in class that basically says &#8220;match all&#8221;.<br \/>\nConform action is transmit, so as long as they are within 2Gbps all it through.<br \/>\nExceed action says everything else, drop.<\/p>\n<p>Now apply the limit to my interface:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"gs-code\"><code class=\"language-plaintext\">interface TenGigE0\/1\/0\/11\r\n description [Customer 1]\r\n service-policy input 2gig\r\n service-policy output 2gig<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>Good luck and happy rate-limiting.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First I&#8217;ll create a simple policy that will match on 2gbps.
