{"id":6167,"date":"2020-01-23T09:56:27","date_gmt":"2020-01-23T15:56:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gregsowell.com\/?p=6167"},"modified":"2020-01-23T09:56:27","modified_gmt":"2020-01-23T15:56:27","slug":"delete-mysql-entries-older-than-two-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gregsowell.com\/?p=6167","title":{"rendered":"Delete MYSQL Entries Older Than Two Weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have an old cacti install plugging away that chokes on the number of syslog entries if I let them stack up longer than two weeks, so here&#8217;s a simple cron job I scheduled that runs nightly deleting everything older than 2 weeks:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"gs-code\"><code class=\"language-plaintext\">mysql -e &#039;delete from syslog where date &lt; current_date() - interval 14 day;&#039; syslog<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>The command instructs mysql to run from the CLI using database syslog.
