Honestly, who would use SwOS&#8230;unless there are going to be some features they don&#8217;t make available in ROS.<br \/>\nSo much speculation at this point.  Is this the same chipset the UBNT Edgeswitch is using&#8230;what kind of proc will this dude have&#8230;?<\/p>\n<p>A new <strong>Omnitik, the AC 5<\/strong> is out.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gregsowell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/omnitik5ac.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"119\" height=\"233\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5408\" \/><br \/>\nThere&#8217;s also an AC 5 PoE version that passes through .at power.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>CCR1009<\/strong> has had an upgrade(which we spoke about on thebrotherswisp.com).<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gregsowell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ccr.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"710\" height=\"343\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5409\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gregsowell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ccr.png 710w, https:\/\/gregsowell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ccr-300x145.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 710px) 100vw, 710px\" \/><br \/>\nThe switch chip has been dumped so you get full 1Gb pipes to each port.<br \/>\nThe chassis also sees a 12-30% performance increase.<br \/>\nI like the idea of having an SFP+ and an SFP port chassis that can do at least a couple gigs of throughput for around $500.  Let&#8217;s see if they can tighten up the software to take advantage of what the Tile procs can provide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Router OS 6.38<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThis introduces TR-069.  This is a protocol usually seen in DSL type equipment.  It allows bulk provisioning and administration via an ACS server.<br \/>\nThey also introduce IKEv2 and some sort of STP functionality for the CRS line&#8230;no real info on this.<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts guys?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can find the PDF Here.
