New Mikrotik RB2011L-IN and SXT G-5HnD

It seems like ages since we have seen new product announcements, but here are a couple. Sources of mine say the RB2011L-IN should be available within the next couple of weeks…and I plan to get one!

RB2011L-IN

  • 600Mhz AR9344(MIPS-BE) CPU
  • 64MB RAM
  • 5 gigabit ports
  • 5 fast Ethernet ports
  • 6 Watt power footprint
  • PoE
  • L4 license
  • This guy looks like a strong replacement for the 750G. It is almost as powerful as the previous 750G model only with double the port density.
    It also appears as if the gig and fast interfaces sit on their own set of switching ASICs.
    I see this as a great closet/tower device.
    I’m really looking forward to the SFP model. I’m less interested in the wireless unit as I feel like the 751 fits this really well.

    Optional mount for RB2011s

    SXT G-5HnD

  • 400MHz AR7242 CPU
  • 32MB RAM
  • 16dBi
  • Gigabit Ethernet Interface
  • With this guy they are tempting you with the possibility of 100+ Mb speed. I’d love to see someone in a relatively quiet environment do it!

    What are you guys interested in?

      I’m hearing good things about the 711 doing ~130 mbit tcp in links where Rockets aren’t working well.

      Why no love for the Grove 2?

      I’ve got love for the Groove 2, just forgot about it. I could have used one about a hear and a half ago…though I might have use for them again…hmmm.

      Interesting.

      I am interested in the 2011 as a switch. Should be quiet. Hard to find a 12+ port switch that doesnt have crazy fans running.

      I just activated a couple of Sextants in my lab (:-))… They are awesome… Can’t wait to put them to the distance. I do wish that Tik would actually start delivering what they make though..I’ve seen the RB751G advertised everywhere, but no one has any inventory at all.
      I did finally get a RB1100AHx2 and it is awesome as well. Some people complaining about the lack of NAND memory but I’m fine with it. Looking forward to testing the 2GHz Groove, but I wish they would make a 2GHz OmniTik with Gig interfaces. Maybe someday…

      @Justin
      I like Cisco 2950s…they only have a single fan and if it gets too loud I just unplug them 😉 I can get them for around the same price.

      @Tim
      Drop me a line when you get them up. Let me know what kind of results you get. I’m looking for the 2Ghz Omnitik also!
